There are so many amazing moments when you walk out the store along with that gorgeous cute dress or that one beautiful cherry-red lipstick in your shopping bag. But let’s be honest, nothing can beat that great mystic feeling after buying a killer pair of shoes.

Today on my blog I want to focus on shoes with thick (flat) soles, a short girl’s best friend. I think we all dream about a walk with the perfect height, with the perfect shoes and without adding uncomfort and pain in our beauty walk. I’m sure you are thinking of high heels for this kind of walks. But let’s be honest, heels can be the worst. Luckily, you don’t need them to be tall and fabulous. Let’s see some other possibilities, like wearing thick-soled shoes.

During the Greek and Roman era, high (wooden) sole shoes were worn by men and women. These shoes were worn by authority to set them apart from the lower class. Nowadays, the trend of high sole shoes is massive. These shoes are quite practical and have a high level of comfort, they can be sophisticated and they create a distinctive look to your outfit.

A Vintage Sole
Put your feet up if you’re loving vintage like I do! Vintage is all the rage today and it has limitless fashion possibilities. The impulse to revert to the past is extraordinary, which you can use to achieve that unique signature look. With these retro designs style and comfort are combined:

Boots are made for walking
Winter is coming and you might need some boots that add some inches to your height besides keeping your feet warm. Boots with higher heels/soles just look dressier than the flat ones in my opinion. There are endless color and material combinations out there, my favorite ankle booties are the ones with brown suede or brown leather, because these types of boots offer the most beautiful color combination during fall and winter and they really are necessary for my fall wardrobe.

Office look
Are you also carrying a comfortable pair of shoes in your handbag while arriving at or leaving the office? No need for that anymore! You can easily wear chic high platforms for a sophisticated look. Wear the platforms classy with trousers, a tricksy blouse and blazer or combine them with suits. I also love a higher platform when I’m wearing a dress or a skirt as it elongates my legs and still looks elegant.

Sneaks
If sneaks are more your pick, why not try a pair of platform sneakers? These sneakers have a thick high sole with an edgy, masculine appearance. Make sure to combine these sneaks with feminine and less heavy styles to soften your overall look. During the Paris Fashion Week Fall 2017 Rihanna showed the collection of her Fenty x Puma Line. We already experienced her success with her ‘’creeper’ platforms previous year, but now she is conquering the street style again with her latest designs for Fenty x Puma.

It can be tricky to find the right balance when you wearing thick-soled shoes. But be the bigger person and try mixing and matching different styles to make your outfit unique. Most importantly, choose that one perfect pair of shoe as the final piece that completes your confidence look at the end.

Let us know what you think of this trend…
